La Roche-en-Ardenne charms visitors as a pittoresque, bucolic town that has preserved its village soul. Nestled in the valley, the Ourthe River winds between local stone façades and specialty shops offering pastries, cured meats, and regional cuisine. Wander the alleys, parks, and bridges crossing the river. Atop the hill stands the proud medieval feudal castle, a testament to the region’s military history. La Roche-en-Ardenne is the perfect base for hiking, cycling, or horseback riding. In winter, cross-country skiing is often possible.

Bertogne is a quintessential Ardennes village, nestled within the Bastogne municipality and surrounded by unspoiled nature. Its rolling hills provide breathtaking panoramic views and a wealth of outdoor activities, from hiking and kayaking to fishing. The region is home to the stunning Nature Park of the Two Ourthes, and significant World War II memorials. “Hoog en droog in België Duurzaam, luxueus en eigenzinnig. Die kwalificaties hielden de Vlaamse architecten Toon de Keyser en Francis Béland in gedachten bij het ontwerpen van vakantieverblijven de Hutstuf-cabins. In de bossen bij La Roche-en-Ardenne bouwde het duo eigenhandig de eerste twee designhuisjes tegen een steile helling. Die zijn speels, met vele doorkijkjes en ramen van vloer tot plafond. Zo lijk je te zweven tussen de bomen. Ze kozen voor lokale, natuurlijke materialen, zoals Ardens hout voor buiten, grenen voor binnen en groen marmer voor de badkamers. Op het dak, tussen de kruinen van de bomen, kwam een sauna met buitendouche. Inmiddels gaan de twee huisjes vergezeld van nog twee exemplaren. En bij Bertogne, een dorp in de buurt, leidt een kronkelpad je naar drie cabins midden in de natuur. ”

“Dat Hutstuf bijzonder hot stuff is in het mooie La Roche-en-Ardenne, hadden we al gespot op Instagram. Ken je het, zo van die mooie foto’s van cabins zien passeren waar je élk weekend wakker wil worden? Maar nu ze er nog twee prachtige hutten bij bouwden, kunnen we echt niet meer wachten om ze eens uit te testen! De nieuwe topplekjes, Eagle en Beaver genaamd, zijn beeldschoon. In Eagle krijg je een weids groen uitzicht, terwijl Beaver speelt met diepte en uitpakt met een wondermooi panorama met onderaan de glinsterende Ourthe en in de verte bossen en een kasteelruïne. Keuze-stress à volonté, als je ’t ons vraagt. ”

“TUSSEN DE BOMEN Twee wondermooie cabins, The Owl en The Fox, pronken op een stille groene helling en garanderen je magnifieke vergezichten. Telkens geschikt voor twee volwassenen en twee kinderen en ook samen te huur. Beide hutten zijn gezegend met panoramische terrassen én een ingenieuze interieurpuzzel. Kers op de taart is de unieke rooftop-sauna. Zelfs naar de sauna slenteren is hier een ervaring. ”

““HERE TRAVELLERS SHOWER BETWEEN THE BRANCHES AND SLEEP UNDER THE STARS” Creating a playground in the treetops, two architects have built four cabins between the trunks of a wooded spot in Belgium. Rising through the branches on stilts, each dwelling is camouflaged within the leafy expanse as the blackened exteriors revel in the shadows. When night falls however, the treehouses make themselves known with the warming glow of the interiors creating a picture of lanterns in the landscape. Stepping inside, you can’t help but swoon over the carpentry and craftsmanship of every detail. From the structures themselves, all the way through to the door handles, every nuance has been carefully considered and designed bespoke using timber from local sawmills. If and when the cabins reach the end of their life, every part can be demounted and recycled.”

“Hutstuf stond al voor luxe en architectuur in de natuur, met de prachtige designhutten Fox en Owl. Op het bosrijke domein in La Roche-en-Ardenne kwamen er onlangs nog twee elegante vakantiehuizen bij: Eagle en Beaver. Ook hier geniet je van een verbluffend designinterieur. Dankzij de vele ramen komt de natuur overal naar binnen, zelfs in de badkamer. Alle vakantiehuizen hebben een privéterras met sauna en buitendouche. Er is plaats voor twee volwassenen en twee kinderen.”

“10 x origineel overnachten in eigen land | Bij Hutstuf combineren ze de rust van de natuur naadloos met prachtige architectuur. De vier exclusieve cabins hebben elk een eigen stijl, maar zijn alle vier afgewerkt met hetzelfde oog voor detail. En je omgeving?
